Company Background

Incorporated in 1994, ISUZU HICOM MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. (IHM) was established to spearhead vehicles manufacturing and assembling in Malaysia for domestic market. With authorized and paid up capital of RM250 million and RM100 million respectively, shareholders include ISUZU Motors Asia Ltd (31%), ISUZU Motors Ltd of Japan (20%), and DRB-HICOM Bhd (49%).

Since its presence, IHM has become one of the leading manufacturing company commanding 28% domestic of market share for Light Duty commercial vehicles in 2009.

IHM aims to be the No. 1 automotive manufacturer in Malaysia. With production capacity of 12,000 units per annum on single shift basis, IHM offers highly skilled manpower and partners with more than 75 local vendors.

IHM plant, located in Pekan Pahang Malaysia, covers 34 acres / 14 hectar of land occupying plant facilities like production shop buildings, offices and warehouses. The modern production facilities handle the main processes of manufacturing using conveyor systems.


Core Business Activity and Products

IHM is principally involved in its core business of automotive manufacturing and assembling of commercial vehicles.

The company manufactures its light-duty trucks under the brand name of HICOM PERKASA with gross vehicle weight ranging from 4.0 to 7.7 tons. The models produce at IHM plant are MTB145, MTB140Crew, MTB150DX, MTB150DXL, MTB170PB and MTB170UV. The manufacturing process for HICOM PERKASA trucks emphasizes on high quality standard and is backed up by strong customer care from the company's dealership nationwide.

Under contract assembly segment, the current lines of model are ISUZU D-Max pick-up and Heavy-Duty ISUZU truck. IHM offers a complete range of contract assembly work for vehicles categorized as follow:
